Challenge

This week, pupils are encouraged to notice and demonstrate respect in their actions and interactions across the school.

Pupils should focus on how they treat others, how they listen, and how they take care of shared spaces.

Pupils may do this by:

• Listening when others are speaking

• Including others in activities

• Using kind and respectful language

• Taking responsibility for their environment

As a class or school, teachers and pupils can decide how their “Respect Machine” responds when respect is seen or heard; this might include recognising it with a sound, celebrating it, or awarding points or praise.

Teachers may support this by noticing and reinforcing respectful behaviour as it happens throughout the week.

This can be revisited in class or in the next assembly to reflect on how respect was demonstrated and how it helped create a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment.
