Important note
Franchise Foundry originally wrote this roadmap with hospitality franchises in mind. That is why some examples refer to cafés, pubs, food costs, premises and larger opening teams. However, the underlying principles apply to almost any franchise a teacher may be curious about, including tutoring, children’s activities, education, wellbeing, professional services, home-based and mobile businesses.
Not every franchise requires premises, employees or a large investment. As you work through this guide, translate each stage to the type of opportunity you are considering. Where a hospitality example does not apply directly, ask: What is the equivalent risk, cost or operational responsibility in this business?
