Right, it is time to give it a go!
● In your groups decide who will be the Boss and introduce your new product.
● Choose 2-3 pupils to be the latecomers.
● The latecomers can leave the room as the boss starts the meeting or the product name could be held up on a piece of paper or shown to each group so that the latecomers cannot see it.
● Run the meeting as explained in the video and see if the late comers can work out what on earth you are talking about!
Game Overview Notes:
One pupil/teacher as boss
Three pupils as latecomers
Rest of class as staff of the company
The boss asks staff to present their research and findings around the problems and possible solutions of a particular product (can be chosen by the boss or you could give the idea from ideas from your pupils)
The staff raise their hands and the boss chooses staff to present their findings.
The latecomers join the meeting.
The staff and boss continue to discuss problems and solutions around the product WITHOUT mentioning the name of the product.
When the latecomers think they have worked out what the product is, they raise their hand and say ‘I have an ideas about the ______’
If they are incorrect, the boss will simply say that they are not talking about that product just now.
If they are correct, the whole class claps and the game is over.
You can repeat this game and rotate the characters as many times as you wish.
Once you have played a few rounds, reflect on what skills you have had to use to work out the products being discussed. How do you use these skills in your day to learning? Are there any skills you would like to improve on?
