If you are worried about making new friend or feel nervous talking to new people it can be helpful to have a few tricks up your sleeve to make it easier.
Finding things you have in common with others is great way to break the ice.
Try listing 5-10 things about you that you think might be something in common you have with others. Things like sports, hobbies, music, movies, places you’ve been to in the world… anything!
Once you’ve written them down just take a moment to read through it and ask yourself if these topics could possibly help break the ice when you get to high school?
If you are still feeling unsure, try practicing with some of your classmates… you never know, there might be something you have in common with one of them that you haven’t discovered yet.
Potential new friends are everywhere. You just have to be brave enough to get to know them first!
