Firstly have a chat with your class about how Moff is feeling and what she may need or not need from others.
Let’s find out how Moff really feels… Any volunteers?
Ask your class: Is there anyone from the class who would like to be Moff?
(One volunteer pupil sits in front of class on a chair)
Now can anyone please put their hand up and tell me what YOU would like to say to Moff to try and make her feel a little bit better?
Maybe you don’t want to say anything, maybe it is something you would do?
Pupils raise hands and when chosen by the teacher give advice directly to Moff and the teacher checks how that is making Moff feel.
Teacher Tip: So that the whole class gets a chance to give their advice, after some individuals have done it, ask the whole class to whisper their advice to Moff at the same time.
What makes Moff is feel better?
This is a good starting point for further class discussion on helping others with difficult emotions or simply about having difficult emotions ourselves.
