Let’s take a bit more time to reflect on those riddles from earlier.
We want you to try to think back and remember what your first thoughts were. Aim to write down at least 5. What ran through your mind? What sort of approach was your mind taking?
If you have 5 optimistic statements, then that’s great. Now take some time to reflect on how they helped you with the challenge. What positive effects did those optimistic thoughts have on the challenge itself? And how might these sorts of thoughts help you when presented with any other challenge?
However, if you have some pessimistic statements written down, we want you to flip them round. In fact, score them out (but make sure you can still read them) and replace them with something more positive.
Moving forward, whenever you catch yourself speaking negatively about a new challenge, these are some of the phrases you are going to use to approach it more positively.
