Think of that one thing you’ve always wanted to try. You know, the one that you’ve probably never told anyone about, the one that sets your soul on fire. Yeah, that thing.
It might be learning a new language, playing a new sport, trying a new activity, learning a musical instrument, baking, whatever you like!
Write this thing down at the top of your paper. There’s just one rule here; the thing you’ve written MUST excite you!
Just below it, you need to write down why this thing excites you so much. This is actually a bit trickier than it should be, but you’ll come up with something.
Now, beneath this, write down the first step you could take to start getting involved. Think of the simplest first step possible, something that would be very easy to do for an extreme beginner. It could even be something as simple as watching a game of the chosen sport.
Then, below that simple first step, write down what could be the next step after that. Something that allows you to discover a little bit more, or gets you more involved.
Continue this process line by line, until you reach the level of an expert in that field.
Notice that this list is essentially a road map to take you through the process of being a beginner to becoming an expert in your chosen hobbies. You’ve taken a goal and you’ve broken it down into little manageable chunks. This list helps to bring focus, motivation and it helps to reduce procrastination.
Do you know what procrastination means? If not, Google it! It’s something we’re all great at when it comes to our own personal goals!
Once you’ve completed your list, look back at step one. Seems almost to easy doesn’t it?
Which means there’s one last part to this task and it’s the most exciting part!
Making it happen…
