Ok, so it’s time to be super creative and get those improvisational skills working again!
Firstly, invite three volunteer pupils to the front of the class and ask them to choose who is playing the boss, the customer and the statue.
● Ask the boss to stand in ‘the shop’, the customer to stand outside the shop and the statue to wait to the side where they can hear what is going on.
● The boss can get into character; opening up the shop, cleaning the windows, counting the money in the till until the customer comes in.
● The boss will ask the customer what they are looking for and the customer will explain.
● The boss will then take the customer and show them the statue they have in stock and explain the features to the customer. The customer will likely have some questions to ask before they will decide if they are buying or not.
● When the customer decides to buy the statue or leave the shop empty handed, the game is over.
Next level options:
● You could have a number of pupils as the statues and the boss will show the customer around the showroom and describe each one and the customer can choose one. NO LAUGHING ALLOWED, YOU’RE A STATUE!
● There could be a boss and an assistant to give support.
● As above there could be two customers who come in together.
● This game can run at the front of the class or in small teams of 3 with the characters rotating.
Have loads of fun, we can’t wait to hear how you get on!
