Blowing Bubbles, real or imaginary, is a great way to get control of your breathing.
Can you think of any other activities that can help you focus on your breathing?
What about blowing a pinwheel?
Or blowing out candles on a birthday cake?
Discuss with your class all the different things you can do to help control or slow down your breathing.
To really help your class get control of their breathing to ask them to lie down and put a small bean bag or stuffed toy on their bellies.
Now take 10 deep breaths and feel the bean bag or teddy rise and fall. This helps them to draw attention to their breathing. Can they take such a deep breath that their teddies falls off their belly?
Next time you feel everyone needs to stop and breathe, ask them to suggest a breathing exercise to try.
How many different ones can you come up with?
