It can be difficult sometimes to just be ourselves.
That’s why it can help to think about the things we admire about other people. With this in mind you are going to create a “mixed-up me”. This is your chance to think about what you’d really like to be like.
If you could have any skills or strengths what would they be? Do you know of anyone that has these skills? A friend, a teacher, a celebrity perhaps?
For example…
I’d choose the head of Amanda Gorman (so I can create amazing beautiful poetry like her)
The hands of Serena Williams (so I can play tennis like her)
The legs of my cousin Lindsey (so I could be taller like her)
The heart of Michael Rashford (so I could be considerate, generous and kind like him)
I might end up looking a bit weird, but those are skills and strengths I would love to have.
Now it’s your turn:
In small groups discuss what skills or strengths you admire in others that you would like to have yourself.
Once you have thought about this, you can create a “Mixed Up Me” image based on your discussion? You could draw it or you could find pictures and create your work of art by gluing them together.
Once you’re done, share this with your class, explain why you have chosen these people and their skills.
