Pair up each of the children with someone they know fairly well. Each person in the pair is going to come up with a situation or problem where their partner would be the right person for the job.
Think about their strengths. It could be a physical strength (balance/agility/speed/height) or an emotional strength (patient/caring/encouraging/resilient) or a knowledge-based strength (expertise/interests/thinking skills/creativity).
e.g. if I was lost in the woods, the person I would want with me to help would be …………… because ……………….
If I was finding getting motivated for school difficult, the person I would want with me would be …………….. because ………………
If I was struggling to be as good at football as I wanted to be, the person I would want help from would be ……………….. because…………….
Children should record these and then share them with the class. This is a great way to celebrate the individual differences and strengths and to help children recognise strengths they may be unaware of.
