Ready to play?
Separate your class into small groups, about 5 per group is perfect.
Tell them they have to sort themselves out in different orders.
Ask the children to stand in a straight line shoulder to shoulder.
Start off with an easy one by asking them to sort themselves out in order of height, tallest to smallest.
Once they get the hang of the game you can use any order you like!
Try hair colour, eye colour, oldest to youngest. If they are doing really well, you can mix up the rules a bit.
Try setting a time limit and see how quickly they can sort themselves out.
Maybe they aren’t allowed to speak while they sort themselves out.
Try choosing a team leader for each group and making the rule that only the leaders are allowed to speak.
If they are really good at it, mix up the teams and give them a blindfold. See how good their communication skills are when they can’t see each other.
