It’s time to make a Worry Jar!
All you need for this is a jar and some things to decorate it with.
We love a little bit of glitter glue, but let your imagination go wild!
Decorate your jar in any way you like. Once you have finished keep it somewhere nearby.
Anytime you feel worried about something, write it down on a piece of paper and put it in the jar.
If you don’t have enough jars, you can simply draw a jar on a large piece of paper and ask your class to share anything that is worrying them.
Why not make this part of a wall display that children can add to thorough each term. This is a great way to keep an eye on who is worried about what and help children to develop the skills to talk about their worries.
To explore the class’ worries a little further set aside some time regularly to empty the worry jar. Explore with your class or individuals all the different things they worry about.
Are they still worried about it?
What did they do to overcome the worry?
What will they do the next time?
