Let’s think about our own class mates as explorers.

Either as a whole class or in smaller groups, pull out class names at random.

The rest of the group class reflect upon this person’s personality and characteristics & come up with words to describe them that would make them a good explorer or good scientist.

Are they good problem solvers?

Are they imaginative?

Maybe focused or determined? Got a different view of life?

Record the words/phrases used for each child.

Ask the class to reflect on when they can use these skills in daily life.

Perhaps you could set a challenge to spot each other being excellent explorers over the rest of the day or week then reflect on how these characteristics helped them to learn or deal with any challenges they faced.
