Freddy the Feelings Fairy has some big feelings. When he feels something, he really really feels it.
When he is happy he brings joy to everyone around him, he sings, he laughs, he dances and beautiful sparkling yellow fairy dust fills the air.
When he is sad his tears are so plentiful, they could fill an ocean. You can tell when he is sad because his fairy dust changes to a dark blue.
And when he is angry, well maybe you’ve heard him. He sounds like a massive rumble of thunder in the distance, getting closer and closer as every second passes; the earth beneath your feet shudders as he lets out enormous roars of frustration. When Freddy is angry his fairy dust turns scarlet red. This is the story of the day he was so angry that he turned his entire kingdom red.
The day started like any other day. The sun was up early, the bees were busy buzzing and Freddy the Feelings Fairy work up surrounded by light silver fairy dust. When Freddy is feeling relaxed his dust is a most beautiful shimming silver. But it didn’t stay silver for long. Freddy leapt out of bed and immediately stubbed his toe.
“OWWWWOWWOWOWWOWWWWWW” he cried dramatically, and his dust instantly turned scarlet…
Once he recovered, he went down stairs to get his breakfast, just to discover that his annoying big sister Francesca had just eaten the last of his favourite fairy cereal, magic stars.
“AHHHHHHH That’s Not Fair!!! I wanted Magic Stars for MY breakfast…” and another bright puff of scarlet red fairy dust filled the air.
Freddy was so frustrated that he hmphed around all morning… He was in such a grump that he missed the school bus.
“NOOOOOOO!!! Now I have to fly to school, UHHHHH its meters and meters away!” and off he flew leaving a trail of bright red dust behind him.
Freddy’s day went from bad to worse….
He had his least favourite lesson first things at school…and his best friend Veronica was off so he didn’t have anyone to play with at playtime.
He had been such grump when he left home that he forgot to bring his PE kit with him to school so wasn’t allowed to join in his favourite games.
So as you can imagine by the time he went home Freddy was in a terrible mood. His mum knew he was grumpy before he even set foot in their house because the air outside was thick with red fairy dust.
Freddy came in slamming the door behind him. He took one sniff of the air and his fury rose even further.
He could smell Brussel sprout soup.
He thought to himself, “no, please no, anything but that”…. He called out to his mum; “Mum what’s for dinner?”
His mum replied cheerily “Brussel sprout soup my dear”
And that was when Freddy lost it. And I mean really lost it. He took a deep breath in, the longest, deepest, slowest breath you can imagine. With every second that past his rage built inside him and suddenly it all burst out at once.
‘ARGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH” he roared. “This is the worst DAY EVER!!!”
Bright red fairy dust burst out of him so rapidly that it blew the doors and window of his house open. The angry red fairy dust streamed across the fields, covering all the fairy houses in the kingdom. Freddy’s roar could be heard for miles around.
The fairies across the kingdom looked around in surprise as a fine layer of red dust landed on every surface.
“Freddy must be really angry about something today” the muttered to each other.
Freddy stomped upstairs, slammed his door and stayed there for a very long time.
Time passed and the fairy folk of Emotiontopia brushed and mopped and cleaned up all the scarlet red fairy dust.
Eventually, a very sheepish looking Freddy peeked around the corner of his door… a faint green guilty dust surrounded him… and he made his way downstairs to try and put things right.
