Learning to learn…
As you can probably tell, Stuart loves the idea of people learning effectively, and helping others to do the same. Learning is a big part of life, not just school. Learning is a skill that we can learn how to do better.
Learning how to learn – sounds fun, right? You learn at school, you learn how to perform certain skills in your favourite sport, you learn how to drive a car when you’re older, you learn how to cook when you move out and you even learn how to cut your own nails… unless you’re totally weird!
This makes it important to understand what helps you to learn. Although people learn in lots of different ways, there are many aspects share that help us to be good learners.
Perhaps the most important of these aspects is the ability to work in a team.
Very rarely do we learn alone. Yes, we need to put in a lot of work and make things happen for ourselves, but more often than not we have at least one other person to help us. Like learning, working with others is a skill that we can improve. Also like learning, it is something we use long after we leave school. Working with others can helps us with friends, relationships, being a parent, starting new jobs, playing in a sports team and so much more!
Learning is a team game and we are all in it together.
