Putting it into Practice
There are lots of aspects that make up a good learner and a good team player. And whilst we might know the words that make up the top attributes, we can all be guilty of not living up to them…Reflect with your class about why sometimes it can be difficult to put some of these skills into practice.
For example, if we know that listening is important for learning, what is it that stops us listening effectively to others. Is it distractions? Are we bored? Do we care what is being said?
If we know working with others is really important, why do we fall out sometimes and get frustrated with each other ?
Being able to identify the things that stop you from putting these skills into practice can make it easier to over come them the next time you are stepping up to challenge.
So the next time you are struggling to learn at your best or work well as a team, take a step back and think, why am I finding this so hard or what can I do to make it easier?
You might just surprise yourself with what you achieve!
