There are two voices in our head looking to take control of how we think, feel and act.
Mr/Mrs Do will encourage you to jump straight in without much thought.
Mr/Mrs Think will stop, wait and think about things before deciding what to do next.
Maybe you’re a bit like Stuart and need to work on encouraging Mr Think to speak up a bit more or maybe you are the exact opposite and need to ask Mr Do to jump in and take some action! Either way, recognising which voice is in control is a hugely valuable skill to have.
We only have one body which means we can only pick one voice to take control at a time. If our body is a car, with one steering wheel then we can only have one driver.
It is important to get to know the characters in your head so you can recognise which one is taking control and decide if it’s the right one for the moment.
