Setting a goal is a bit like planning a journey.
Your big goal is where you want to get to. Your small steps are the things you can do along the way to help you get there.
For example, instead of simply saying:
“I want to get better at maths.”
You could choose smaller steps, such as:
Practise my 5 times table → Learn my 6 times table → Ask for help when I’m stuck → Keep practising
Small steps can make a big goal feel much more achievable.
